Sikar. The Janki Narayan Temple, located near Fatehpur Gate, became the center of spiritual activity this Sunday as hundreds of devotees gathered to observe the auspicious Sharad Purnima festival. The temple premises were beautifully adorned with vibrant flowers and decorative lighting to mark the occasion, creating a serene atmosphere for the visitors who began arriving early in the morning.
Under the guidance of Mahant Lakshmanacharya Ji Maharaj, the temple priests performed a special ceremonial bath and elaborate ornamentation of the deity. The rituals were conducted with great devotion, drawing a steady stream of worshippers throughout the day. The temple management ensured that all arrangements were in place to accommodate the large influx of people seeking blessings during this significant lunar event.
As evening descended, the temple echoed with the sounds of devotional music as various local bhajan troupes performed soulful renditions. The highlight of the evening was the grand maha-aarti performed under the moonlight, which is traditionally believed to bring divine blessings. Mahant Lakshmanacharya Ji Maharaj explained the spiritual significance of the night, noting that it is considered a time when the moon showers nectar-like energy upon the earth.
The festivities concluded with the distribution of a special prasad, which included traditional kheer, a staple of the Sharad Purnima celebrations. Hundreds of attendees partook in the offerings, fostering a sense of community and shared faith. The event saw the presence of several prominent figures, including former MLA Ratan Jaldhari and Councilor Bhawani Shankar, alongside dedicated temple committee members who worked to ensure the success of the gathering.
The peaceful celebration served as a reminder of the deep-rooted cultural traditions in Sikar. As the night progressed, the temple remained a focal point for those wishing to connect with the divine, marking another successful year of observing this celestial festival with traditional fervor and collective participation from the local community.
