Jaipur. In a significant breakthrough for Rajasthan law enforcement, the notorious gangster Harichand Jat, widely recognized as Hari Boxer, has been detained in the United States. The operation marks a major success in the ongoing state-wide campaign against organized crime syndicates, which is being conducted under the direct supervision of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma.
The capture of the active Lawrence Bishnoi gang member was the result of a coordinated effort led by the Anti-Gangster Task Force of Rajasthan, operating under the strategic guidance of Additional Director General of Police Dinesh M.N. Officials confirmed that the suspect had been evading authorities for an extended period before his recent detention abroad.
The investigative process was spearheaded by the Anti-Terrorism Squad, with Deputy Inspector General Yogesh Yadav overseeing the intelligence gathering and international coordination. To ensure the suspect could be located, the Rajasthan Police worked extensively with Interpol, issuing a Red Corner Notice that facilitated tracking across multiple jurisdictions. Over the course of the investigation, authorities submitted formal reference requests to five different countries on fourteen separate occasions to pinpoint his location.
Beyond the initial notice, the police provided comprehensive legal documentation to international partners, including a provisional arrest request, an updated criminal dossier, and verified fingerprint records. These efforts were crucial in securing the detention of the fugitive, who is considered a key figure within the Bishnoi network.
Currently, the Rajasthan Police are actively engaged in the formal legal procedures required to extradite Hari Boxer back to India. Officials stated that the process to bring him to justice is well underway, reflecting the state's commitment to dismantling criminal organizations that operate across borders. The successful detention serves as a testament to the enhanced cooperation between local law enforcement and international security agencies in tracking high-profile fugitives.
