Jaipur. The Rajasthan Police Headquarters has officially opened the application process for an upcoming internship program tailored for law students and research scholars. Under the guidance of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, the Crime Branch is inviting eligible candidates to gain practical experience within the state's law enforcement framework. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic legal studies and the operational realities of criminal justice.

The unpaid internship program is scheduled to commence on January 1, 2027. Interested candidates currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate law programs, as well as active research scholars, are encouraged to participate. According to Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Crime Branch, Deepak Bhargava, applicants must ensure they meet all specific eligibility criteria and terms outlined in the official notification released by the department.

To streamline the recruitment process, the police department has mandated that all applications be submitted exclusively through the RajCop Citizen App. Prospective interns have until December 11, 2026, to complete their submissions. Detailed guidelines, eligibility requirements, and further information regarding the program structure are available on the official Rajasthan Police website for those planning to apply.

The Crime Branch has proactively reached out to several prominent legal education institutions across the region to ensure widespread awareness. Correspondence has been sent to the principals and heads of departments at institutions including the Rajasthan Law University Five Year College, National Law University in Jodhpur, Subodh Law College, and Amity University in Jaipur. Other participating institutions include Banasthali Vidyapith in Niwai, St. Wilfred College of Law, Kanodia School of Law for Women, Manipal University, and Symbiosis Law School in Pune.

This program represents a significant opportunity for students to engage with legal processes at the state level. By coordinating directly with academic institutions, the police department hopes to attract motivated individuals who are keen to understand the complexities of legal work within the police force. Students are advised to review all documentation thoroughly before submitting their applications through the designated mobile application to avoid any technical delays.
