Jaipur, October 29, 2026. In a decisive move to curb the rising menace of illegal narcotics, the Jaipur West police force successfully executed a targeted operation leading to the apprehension of two individuals involved in the illicit drug trade. Under the strategic guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Kiran, a joint task force comprising officers from the Vishwakarma police station and the City Special Team conducted a raid that resulted in the seizure of over four kilograms of marijuana.
The operation was initiated following intelligence reports regarding the movement of contraband within the Vishwakarma industrial area. Acting on specific leads provided by the specialized team, officers intercepted the suspects while they were in transit. During the search, authorities recovered 4.208 kilograms of marijuana and confiscated the motorcycle used for the distribution of the illegal substances.
The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Aman Giri and 34-year-old Ratan Kumar, also known as Sonu. Both individuals are originally from Bihar and were residing in the JS Colony area of Vishwakarma at the time of their arrest. Law enforcement officials have registered a formal case against them under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act to ensure rigorous legal proceedings.
Supervision for this operation was provided by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Gupta and Assistant Commissioner of Police Krishna Raj Jangid. The investigation is currently focused on tracing the origin of the seized narcotics and identifying the broader network of suppliers and potential buyers involved in this distribution chain. Police are interrogating the detainees to uncover further links to organized drug syndicates operating in the capital.
This crackdown is part of a broader, ongoing initiative directed by senior police leadership to eliminate the sale and consumption of prohibited substances across the city. Authorities have emphasized that such enforcement actions will continue with increased intensity to maintain public safety and order. The dedicated team responsible for this successful bust included Inspector Manvendra Singh Bhati and several key personnel from the City Special Team, whose coordinated efforts were instrumental in the arrests.
