JAIPUR. In a significant crackdown on international drug trafficking, the Bikaner Range police have successfully executed Operation Chakravyuh, resulting in the seizure of 14 kilograms of heroin and the arrest of six individuals. The operation, conducted under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Om Prakash, targeted smuggling networks operating across the Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar districts. The total value of the confiscated narcotics is estimated at 38 crore rupees in the international market.
The primary action took place in the Goluwala police station area of Hanumangarh, where authorities apprehended four suspects. During the search of two luxury vehicles, officers recovered over nine kilograms of heroin and 1.85 lakh rupees in cash. The arrested individuals include a family group from Hansaliya village and a resident of Jalandhar, Punjab. This operation was supported by critical intelligence provided by the CID zone of Sri Ganganagar.
Simultaneously, a separate operation in the Rawla area of Sri Ganganagar led to the arrest of two individuals from Fazilka, Punjab. These suspects were intercepted while allegedly waiting to collect a consignment of heroin dropped via drone from across the border. Police recovered over four kilograms of the substance from the pair, who were also found to be wanted in connection with other criminal cases in the region.
Beyond the narcotics bust, the Bikaner Range police also targeted illegal liquor smuggling. Two separate incidents involving trucks resulted in the seizure of 1,160 cartons of illicit liquor, valued at approximately 1.42 crore rupees. Four additional suspects were taken into custody during these operations, which were carried out by the Mahajan and Hanumangarh Town police stations.
Authorities are currently interrogating the detainees to map out the broader supply chain and identify other individuals involved in the trafficking network. The police department has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes in the region, promising that investigations will continue until all links in the smuggling chain are dismantled.
