Jaipur. Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar Sharma has issued a stern directive to law enforcement officials across Rajasthan, demanding heightened vigilance and immediate, effective responses to maintain public order. During a high-level review meeting held at the police headquarters, the DGP emphasized the necessity of timely resolution for pending cases, proactive crime prevention, and rigorous preparations for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections.

A primary focus of the new mandate is the management of sensitive disputes. DGP Sharma instructed officers to identify potential flashpoints early, particularly those involving land or revenue issues, and to coordinate with relevant departments to resolve conflicts before they escalate. He stressed that preventative measures and legal interventions must be prioritized to ensure community stability.

Addressing internal accountability, the DGP made it clear that police conduct must remain professional and empathetic toward the public. He directed that any personnel found involved in criminal activities or displaying inappropriate behavior will face strict disciplinary action. Officers are now required to hold regular hearings for complainants to ensure that grievances are addressed within established timeframes.

Technological integration is set to increase, with the DGP mandating the use of body-worn cameras during all police checkpoints. This move aims to enhance transparency and provide objective evidence during traffic enforcement and suspect vetting. Furthermore, the department is shifting toward a more aggressive stance on cybercrime, with instructions to register zero FIRs to ensure victims receive immediate assistance regardless of jurisdictional boundaries.

The review also touched upon the performance of various districts. Regions showing a significant rise in crime rates under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Indian Penal Code have been tasked with conducting deep-dive analyses to develop targeted action plans. Similar directives were issued regarding the enforcement of the NDPS Act and the protection of women, with a clear warning that negligence in duty will not be tolerated at any level of the hierarchy.

Finally, as the state prepares for upcoming festivals and local elections, the DGP called for robust security deployments and increased patrolling. He urged officers to maintain a visible and active presence, ensuring that public safety and the restoration of trust in the police force remain the top priorities for every district unit.
