Jaipur's Nomadic Communities Celebrate Raksha Bandhan with a Message of Social Unity

Jaipur. A unique Raksha Bandhan celebration took place at Chetna Basti in Jaisinghpura Khor, Delhi Road, as part of a broader initiative to promote social harmony. The event, organized jointly by the Ghumantu Jati Utthan Nyas and Chirayu Hospital, saw local citizens and community leaders visiting the nomadic settlement to participate in the traditional thread-tying ceremony.

Event coordinator Sarveshwar Sharma emphasized that Raksha Bandhan serves as more than just a familial celebration; it is a vital opportunity to strengthen social bonds. By engaging with families often living on the margins of society, the organizers aimed to foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity. Sharma noted that such intimate gatherings are essential for integrating these communities into the mainstream fabric of society.

Rakesh Kumar Sharma, the Jaipur metropolitan coordinator for nomadic welfare, highlighted that efforts to support these communities have been ongoing for over a decade. The organization regularly celebrates various festivals with nomadic families to build lasting relationships. This year's Raksha Bandhan event was a continuation of that commitment to brotherhood and mutual respect.

The atmosphere was deeply emotional as guests, including Dr. Manoj Chaudhary and Mohit Chaudhary from Chirayu Hospital, received rakhis from the women of the community. Dr. Chaudhary expressed his gratitude, describing the experience as a privilege. He remarked that such initiatives play a crucial role in reducing social distance and encouraging citizens to share in the joys and challenges of all community members.
