Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh Announces Nationwide Protest for Labor Reforms on August 17

Jaipur. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) has officially declared a nationwide agitation scheduled for August 17, aimed at addressing the long-standing grievances of the labor force. During a strategic meeting held in Jaipur, union leaders finalized the roadmap for a massive demonstration that will take place at all district headquarters across the state. The session was presided over by District President Ranjeet Singh Gurjar, with several senior national and regional functionaries in attendance to coordinate the upcoming mobilization efforts.

The primary objective of this protest is to present a formal memorandum to the Prime Minister through the District Collector, urging immediate intervention in labor policy matters. Organizers emphasized that a comprehensive outreach campaign will be launched across the Jaipur district to ensure maximum participation from workers representing various industrial and service sectors. The union leadership expressed that the movement is a critical phase in their ongoing struggle for the fundamental rights and social security of millions of employees, including those in the unorganized sector and various government scheme workers.

Key demands highlighted by the organization include a revision of the minimum monthly wage to 30,000 rupees and significant adjustments to social security thresholds. The union is advocating for the ESIC wage limit to be raised to 42,000 rupees, while seeking an EPF wage ceiling of 30,000 rupees. Furthermore, the organization is pushing for a minimum monthly EPS pension of 7,500 rupees, coupled with inflation-linked allowances and comprehensive medical benefits for retirees.

Additional demands focus on structural changes to labor laws, including the removal of anti-worker provisions and an increase in the gratuity limit to 40 lakh rupees. The union is also calling for a bonus eligibility threshold of 42,000 rupees and a calculation limit of 18,000 rupees, alongside a demand for equal pay for equal work. The meeting concluded with an appeal to all affiliated federations and unions to demonstrate collective strength, reinforcing the organization's commitment to the principle of prioritizing national interest and labor welfare.
