Jamwaramgarh Green Initiative: Hundreds Join Hands for Massive Tree Plantation Drive

Jamwaramgarh. A significant environmental movement took root in the Jamwaramgarh region this Saturday as the Laxminarayan Memorial Trust and Team Suman Meena (TSM) inaugurated their ambitious 'Plant Trees, Save Life 2026' campaign. The initiative, which saw participation from hundreds of local residents, aims to move beyond simple plantation by fostering a culture of long-term environmental stewardship across the district.

The campaign spanned a wide array of locations, including Mata Ji Ki Dhani, Kanadiawala, Deoda Dungar, Jhol, Arwadi, Bhavpura, Manota, Booj, Sarjoli, Kharkada, and various temple complexes such as the Shri Ganga Mandir and Sitaram Mandir. Beyond planting saplings in public spaces and schools, the organizers distributed free plants to encourage residents to take personal responsibility for local greenery.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ashok Gupta, member of the Rajasthan Human Rights Commission and former Inspector General of Police, highlighted the long-term impact of the initiative. He noted that the saplings planted today are an investment in the future, promising to provide essential oxygen, shade, and a cleaner environment for generations to come. His sentiments were echoed by Dr. Har Sahai Meena, an IAS officer and patron of the trust, who suggested that if every family committed to planting and nurturing just two trees each monsoon, the entire state of Rajasthan could undergo a profound ecological transformation.

Suman Meena, Trust President and Panchayat Samiti member, lauded the dedication of the youth and women who spearheaded the effort. She emphasized that true change stems from societal participation rather than government action alone. During the event, she urged citizens to adopt five core pledges: planting at least one tree, ensuring its regular care, connecting children with nature, protecting local water and land resources, and marking personal milestones like birthdays and anniversaries with a plantation.

The event concluded with a collective pledge by the attendees to transform the campaign into a sustained public movement. By focusing on the survival of the saplings rather than just the act of planting, the organizers hope to secure a greener and more sustainable future for the region.
