Uchain, Bharatpur. A local resident in Uchain has leveled serious allegations against the Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Council, claiming he was subjected to physical assault and verbal abuse over a long-standing financial dispute. The complainant, a plumber named Raju, asserts that he has been struggling for two years to recover an outstanding balance of five thousand rupees for plumbing work performed at a college owned by the official, Manoj Gurjar.
According to the victim, the conflict escalated on Monday morning when he encountered the Deputy Chairman and his associates while on his way to work. Raju claims that when he requested the payment, he was met with verbal abuse and physical violence. He alleges that he was beaten with belts and rods by the official and three other individuals, identified as Ajay Singh, Sandeep, and Girish. The victim further stated that his disabled nephew was also targeted during the altercation.
The situation has taken a complex turn as the victim alleges that local law enforcement has been reluctant to register his complaint. Raju claims that even after visiting the police station, his report was not filed, and he felt intimidated by the presence of the accused at the station premises. Seeking justice, he eventually approached the Superintendent of Police office in Bharatpur, where he was directed back to the local station with assurances of an investigation, though he maintains that no formal case has been registered yet.
In response to these allegations, Deputy Chairman Manoj Gurjar has categorically denied any wrongdoing. He characterized the accusations as a retaliatory tactic aimed at pressuring him. Gurjar claims that the dispute stems from the termination of the complainant's son, who was previously employed as a supervisor at the municipal office. According to the official, the victim is fabricating these charges to force the reinstatement of his son to the position.
The local police authorities have stated that they are currently looking into the matter to verify the claims made by both parties. Station House Officer Rajveer Singh noted that while the incident has not been formally processed as a case yet, the department will investigate the allegations thoroughly to determine the facts. As the investigation proceeds, the community awaits clarity on the conflicting narratives presented by the two sides.
