Didwana. The process of preparing electronic voting machines for the upcoming third phase of the Panchayati Raj general elections has officially begun in Didwana. Under the guidance of the District Election Officer, the commissioning of units for five distinct panchayat committees was initiated on Thursday at the Government Bangur College. This critical technical phase is designed to ensure that the electoral process remains transparent, fair, and free from any technical glitches during the actual polling day.
A total of 538 polling booths are covered under this phase, necessitating the simultaneous commissioning of both ballot and control units. To maintain complete transparency, the entire procedure was conducted in the presence of returning officers, assistant returning officers, and authorized representatives from various political parties. This collaborative approach ensures that all stakeholders have full confidence in the integrity of the voting hardware before the machines are deployed to their respective locations.
During the commissioning exercise, every machine underwent a rigorous technical inspection to verify its functionality. Officials conducted mock polls in front of the political representatives to demonstrate that the devices were operating correctly. Only after these tests were completed to the satisfaction of all parties were the machines officially sealed. This meticulous verification process is a standard safety measure to prevent any potential issues during the high-stakes election period.
Once the sealing process concluded, the machines were transported under a heavy security detail to temporary strong rooms established for each of the five panchayat committees. These facilities will remain under constant surveillance until the day the polling parties are dispatched to their assigned stations. The administration has emphasized that these security measures are vital for maintaining the sanctity of the democratic process.
District Election Officer Awadhesh Meena stated that the administration is fully prepared to conduct a peaceful and independent election. The commissioning event was attended by Deputy District Election Officer Ratan Kumar, master trainer Raghuveer Singh, and other key administrative staff. With the technical preparation now complete, the district is moving closer to the final phase of the electoral schedule, ensuring that voters can cast their ballots without any administrative or technical concerns.
