Didwana. In a proactive move to ensure the upcoming Panchayat Raj elections proceed in a peaceful and orderly environment, the Didwana-Kuchaman district police have launched a comprehensive security operation. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Dr. Pyare Lal Shivran, the force has intensified its efforts to apprehend wanted criminals and curb illegal activities across the region. This initiative aims to bolster public confidence in law enforcement and maintain strict adherence to legal standards during the electoral process.

The operation saw coordinated raids across various police station jurisdictions, resulting in the successful arrest of seven individuals who were either permanent or arrest warrant holders. Beyond these apprehensions, the police registered seven new cases under various local and special acts. Notable enforcement actions included the Nawa City police station seizing illicit narcotics under the NDPS Act and arresting one suspect, while the Parbatsar police station registered two cases involving the seizure of illegal liquor under the Excise Act. Similar enforcement measures were carried out by the Khunkhuna and Nimbi Jodha stations.

A significant highlight of the security drive was the implementation of a district-wide 'A' category blockade on October 26. Between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM, following directives from Ajmer Range Inspector General of Police Dr. Ravi, checkpoints were established on major national and state highways as well as urban and rural thoroughfares. During this four-hour window, officers conducted rigorous inspections of 591 vehicles to identify suspicious individuals and contraband.

The traffic enforcement component of the operation led to 113 challans being issued under the Motor Vehicle Act. These violations included 54 cases of vehicles using tinted films, 17 instances of missing or obscured number plates, and 42 other traffic infractions such as failure to wear seatbelts or helmets. Additionally, four vehicles were seized for non-compliance. Authorities also utilized the RajCop app's photo-match feature to verify the criminal records of 89 individuals.

District police officials have appealed to the public to cooperate in maintaining peace and order throughout the election period. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the authorities immediately. The administration emphasized that the primary goal of this campaign is not merely punitive, but to foster a culture of safety and ensure that traffic regulations are respected for the well-being of all residents.
