Bhusawar, Bharatpur. A routine operation by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in the Bhusawar police station area of Bharatpur district escalated into a confrontation, resulting in legal action against ten individuals. The incident occurred in Karwan village, where the task force had arrived to investigate reports of illicit substance distribution.
According to the official report filed with the local police, the operation was part of a special state-wide drive initiated on October 26. ANTF team members, led by an officer-in-charge, had been monitoring the movements of a local resident identified as Rocky, also known as Ranjeet, who was suspected of being involved in the supply of prohibited items.
The situation turned tense when the team attempted to detain the suspect near his residence. As officers approached, a motorcyclist who had been meeting with the suspect managed to flee the scene. During the subsequent detention of Ranjeet, a group of individuals allegedly gathered and began creating a disturbance, obstructing the officers from performing their official duties.
The police report details that the team attempted to document the incident through video recording as the situation unfolded. Despite the resistance, the authorities managed to secure the suspect. Following the confrontation, a formal complaint was registered at the Bhusawar police station against nine named individuals and one unidentified person.
The charges filed include multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, covering offenses related to obstructing public servants and causing public disorder, alongside provisions under the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as authorities review the evidence collected during the operation.
This incident highlights the challenges faced by specialized task forces while operating in rural areas. Local police are now conducting further inquiries to determine the extent of the network involved in the alleged supply chain and to apprehend the remaining suspects named in the FIR.
