Deeg Police Bust Massive Adulterated Paneer Racket Spanning Multiple States

Deeg police and food safety officials raided two illegal plants in Khedwara, destroying 1,800 kilograms of synthetic paneer made from palm oil and powder.

Deeg. In a significant crackdown on food safety violations, the Deeg district police executed a coordinated operation against illegal manufacturing units producing synthetic paneer. Acting under the directives of Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath K., a joint team comprising local police, the District Special Team, and food safety inspectors raided two separate locations within the Khedwara police station jurisdiction. The operation resulted in the destruction of approximately 1,800 kilograms of adulterated paneer that was being prepared for distribution across Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

The first raid occurred in Jajamka village following intelligence reports regarding a dairy unit operating from a private residence. Upon arrival, authorities discovered a large-scale setup where paneer was being manufactured using soybean oil, palm oil, and skimmed milk powder. While several individuals managed to evade capture by fleeing into the nearby residential area, police successfully apprehended one suspect identified as Sahil. He revealed that the facility was managed by an individual named Masood and that the synthetic product was being shipped to neighboring states every few days. Officials seized various raw materials, including 18 bags of milk powder and multiple canisters of refined oil, before destroying 1,600 kilograms of the contaminated product.

A second operation was conducted simultaneously in the forests of Manchi near a local guesthouse. Acting on further intelligence, the police team discovered another illicit plant operated by individuals identified as Ayub and Muheed. During the inspection, officers found a worker named Ali, also known as Alijan, actively processing paneer. The site contained significant quantities of palm oil, soybean oil, and milk powder, along with a pickup truck loaded with manufacturing supplies. Authorities destroyed 200 kilograms of adulterated paneer at the scene and seized the vehicle as evidence.

Both arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation as police work to dismantle the broader supply network. Cases have been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006. Law enforcement officials have formed dedicated teams to track down the primary operators of these plants who remain at large. This operation marks a major step in curbing the circulation of hazardous food products in the region, with authorities emphasizing that further investigations are underway to ensure all those involved in the illicit trade are brought to justice.
