Januthar, Deeg. In a shocking incident that has left the community of Badesara village in the Deeg district reeling, local police have successfully apprehended two suspects in connection with the brutal murder of twin brothers. The victims, identified as Vinay and Vishnu, were found dead under piles of fodder in a local enclosure on October 20, bearing severe injuries from a sharp-edged weapon. The swift resolution of the case came within 24 hours under the district's Operation Sankalp initiative.
The investigation took a harrowing turn when authorities discovered that the primary suspects were the children's own mother, 35-year-old Priti, and her 40-year-old lover, Rajesh. According to police reports, the mother, a widow, had been involved in an illicit relationship with Rajesh. Investigators believe the couple conspired to eliminate the children because they feared the boys would expose their secret affair or were becoming an obstacle to their relationship.
The case was initially registered following a complaint filed by the children's grandfather, Ghanshyam, who discovered the bodies. District Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath K. prioritized the investigation, deploying forensic experts, a dog squad, and specialized mobile investigation teams to the scene. These teams meticulously collected scientific evidence that eventually pointed toward the mother's involvement.
During intense interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime. They admitted to planning the murder under the cover of darkness, using a sharp weapon to kill the innocent children before hiding their bodies in a nearby fodder stack to conceal the evidence. The police are currently working to recover the weapon used in the attack and are continuing their investigation into the details of the conspiracy.
This tragic event has sent shockwaves through the region, highlighting the devastating consequences of the alleged illicit relationship. The suspects are now in custody, facing charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Local authorities have assured the public that the investigation will proceed with the utmost rigor to ensure justice for the young victims.
