Jaipur. A vibrant awareness campaign took to the roads on Saturday as a grand bike rally set off from the southern gate of Ram Niwas Garden in Jaipur, heading toward Singhania University in Pacheri. The event was organized to build momentum for the third Asian Para Throwball Championship, which is scheduled to be hosted in Rajasthan in 2027. The rally served as a platform to highlight the capabilities of para-athletes and promote inclusivity within the sporting community.
Rajasthan Water Resources Minister Suresh Singh Rawat officially flagged off the procession. He was joined by several notable figures, including World Para Throwball Federation President Nirmala Rawat, Deputy Director of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Bhagwan Sahay, and international para-athlete Shatabdi Awasthi. The presence of these dignitaries underscored the state's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for athletes with disabilities.
Approximately 100 para-athletes participated in the rally with great enthusiasm. The initiative aimed to advocate for equal opportunities and celebrate the talent of individuals who often face societal barriers. Minister Rawat emphasized that para-athletes possess immense potential and require only the right training and platforms to excel.
