Jaipur. A significant initiative aimed at bolstering mental health awareness among the youth was recently conducted in Jaipur. Under the Man Darpan-2 campaign, the District Mental Health Program, in collaboration with the Gyan Sanjeevani NGO, organized a comprehensive training session designed to equip students with the tools necessary to address psychological challenges within their own communities.
Dr. Suresh Gupta, Head of the Psychiatry Department at the Psychiatric Center in Jaipur, attended the event as the chief guest. During the proceedings, District Nodal Officer Dr. Gajanand Verma emphasized the critical need to dismantle social stigmas and misconceptions surrounding mental health issues. He urged the attendees to foster a culture of empathy, support, and positive engagement toward individuals struggling with mental health concerns.
Practical guidance was provided by Psychiatric Nursing Officer Sanjay Mittal, who detailed the symptoms of stress and anxiety. He offered actionable advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including the importance of balanced mobile phone usage, adequate sleep, and effective stress management techniques. Mittal stressed that seeking help for mental distress is a sign of maturity rather than a weakness, encouraging students to confide in trusted individuals when facing difficulties.
