Jaipur. The Rajasthan Police Headquarters and the Rajasthan Police Academy observed the second day of the BRICS Sustainable Lifestyle Week with a dedicated focus on environmental stewardship and energy efficiency. As part of the Mission LiFE initiative, which promotes a lifestyle for the environment, senior officials and staff members gathered to commit themselves to sustainable practices and the judicious use of natural resources.
At the police headquarters, Director General of Police for Law and Order, Sanjay Agarwal, administered a formal oath to the assembled officers and staff. The pledge emphasized the importance of reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and integrating sustainable habits into daily routines. The event saw the participation of several high-ranking officials, including Director General of Police Malini Agarwal, along with Additional Directors General of Police such as VK Singh, Rupinder Singh, Bipin Kumar Pandey, Sanjeeb Kumar Narzary, S. Sengathir, Bhupendra Sahu, and Hawa Singh Ghumaria.
Simultaneously, the Rajasthan Police Academy marked the day by observing a symbolic energy conservation hour. To highlight the necessity of reducing electricity consumption, power supply to all academy buildings was suspended for thirty minutes. This practical demonstration served as a reminder to both staff and trainees about the impact of individual actions on overall energy demand.
Beyond the symbolic power-down, the academy conducted awareness sessions encouraging personnel to adopt energy-efficient habits at home, such as switching off unnecessary lights and appliances. These initiatives across the police department aim to foster a culture of responsibility, encouraging members of the force to lead by example in the broader community. By embedding these practices into their professional and personal lives, the Rajasthan Police seeks to contribute significantly to the national goal of environmental sustainability.
