Jaipur. The Jaipur district administration observed National Unity Day on Thursday to commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. District Collector Sandesh Nayak presided over the ceremony held at the Collectorate premises, where he administered a formal pledge of national unity to government employees and local citizens gathered to honor the leader's enduring legacy.
Addressing the assembly, Collector Nayak reflected on the life of Sardar Patel, who was born on October 31, 1875, in Nadiad, Gujarat. He highlighted that Patel’s journey was defined by remarkable resilience, intellectual depth, and a disciplined approach to governance. The Collector emphasized that Patel’s contributions were not limited to his pivotal role in the struggle for Indian independence but extended to the monumental task of integrating over 562 princely states into a unified nation.
The event served as a reminder of the administrative brilliance required to weave a fragmented territory into a cohesive country. Collector Nayak noted that the life of the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of India remains a profound source of inspiration for every citizen, encouraging the public to uphold the values of integrity and national solidarity that he championed throughout his career.
Following the pledge, a floral tribute ceremony was conducted at the statue of Sardar Patel located within the Collectorate complex. The event saw participation from several senior administrative officials, including Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad Shubham Bhansare, and Additional District Collectors Rajeev Dwivedi, Meghraj Singh Meena, and Devyani. Also present were Additional District Collector for Jaipur City North Rajendra Singh, Assistant Collector Nidhi Meena, and various departmental officers including Subhash Chandra Swami, Kuldeep, and Pradeep Singh Rathore.
The gathering concluded with a collective commitment from the administrative staff to continue serving the nation with the same spirit of dedication and unity that Sardar Patel exemplified.
