Jaipur. Members of the Rajasthan Police Tourist Assistance Force recently stepped out of their traditional roles to immerse themselves in a unique cultural experience at the Rajasthan International Center. Nine officers, currently undergoing specialized French language training provided by Alliance Française de Jaipur, attended the musical performance titled Le Voyage de Rézé. This initiative is part of a broader effort to equip 22 police personnel with the linguistic skills necessary to better assist French-speaking tourists visiting the state.

The event, held under the France-India Year of Innovation 2026, showcased a creative blend of music, poetry, and live painting. For seventy minutes, the audience was taken on an artistic journey featuring the talents of Rézé on vocals and guitar, Soifran on percussion, Emdé on live illustration, and Kristo on real-time visual projections. The performance was designed to foster cross-cultural dialogue, allowing the police officers to engage directly with Francophone artists in a vibrant, multilingual environment.

The evening also highlighted the universal language of music through a collaborative jamming session. Local artists, including young hula-hoop performer Siana from Neerja Modi School and folk musician Mamta Sapra, who plays the morchang and khartal, joined the French performers on stage. This interaction served as a poignant example of the cultural exchange that the France-India partnership aims to cultivate across various sectors.

Grégoire Trumel, Director of the French Institute in India, emphasized that such performances transform artistic presentations into collective experiences shared between creators and the public. This philosophy remains central to the France-India Year of Innovation. The tour, supported by the France Live series and the Alliance Française network, is currently visiting nine cities across the country to strengthen bilateral ties.

Dr. Tulika Gupta, President of Alliance Française de Jaipur, noted that the objective of hosting such events is to make French performing arts accessible to the local community. The program was attended by various dignitaries, including Commissioner of College Education Nathmal Didel, along with students and representatives from numerous educational institutions across Rajasthan. The event concluded with an interactive session, allowing the audience to engage directly with the visiting artists.
