Interstate Cyber Fraud Ring Targeting Investors Busted in Sawai Madhopur
Sawai Madhopur police have dismantled an interstate cyber fraud gang that swindled crores by promising high returns through fake share market trading apps.
Sawai Madhopur. Sawai Madhopur police have successfully dismantled an interstate cyber fraud syndicate that allegedly swindled crores of rupees from victims across the country. The gang lured unsuspecting individuals by promising substantial profits through online share market trading and fraudulent investment schemes. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint operation involving the Rawanjana Dungar police station and the District Special Team led to the arrest of one suspect, while three others managed to evade capture by fleeing through nearby fields.
The operation was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Jyestha Maitreyi, with supervision from Additional SP Neha Agarwal and Rural DSP Ramdhan Choudhary. During the patrol near the Kushtala-Tonk road, police spotted four individuals acting suspiciously near a petrol pump. Upon noticing the police vehicle, the suspects abandoned their vehicles and mobile phones before attempting to escape. Officers managed to apprehend 29-year-old Rajendra Meena, a resident of Chharoda, while the search for his accomplices continues.
Investigators recovered significant evidence from the scene, including two luxury vehicles, a motorcycle, four mobile phones, bank passbooks, and ATM cards. Preliminary analysis of the digital evidence indicates that the gang was involved in massive financial transactions linked to cyber fraud. The group utilized sophisticated methods to deceive investors, including the deployment of custom-built mobile applications that displayed fake trading graphs to simulate high returns.
The syndicate reportedly operated through various Telegram channels, where they disseminated investment tips and enticed victims with promises of quick wealth. To maintain anonymity and evade law enforcement, the members allegedly used SIM cards obtained through forged documents and bank accounts registered under the names of third parties. These accounts served as conduits for laundering the illicit funds collected from victims.
Authorities are currently analyzing the digital transaction logs to determine the full scale of the financial damage and identify other members of the network. Police are also coordinating with other jurisdictions to check for existing cases registered against the gang across the country. The arrest of the primary suspect is expected to provide crucial leads into the broader operations of this interstate criminal enterprise as the investigation progresses.
