Tensions Escalate in Bhonda Village Following Atar Singh Bhadana Murder Case
The Gurjar community held a massive meeting in Bhonda village to demand a CBI probe into the Atar Singh Bhadana murder case, alleging police misconduct.
Vair, Bharatpur. A significant gathering of the Gurjar community took place in Bhonda village today, following the murder of Atar Singh Bhadana on the evening of October 11. The incident, which stemmed from disputes over mining leases, crusher plants, and access routes in the Vair region, has triggered widespread unrest. Thousands of community members, including prominent leaders of the Gurjar Reservation Struggle Committee, assembled to voice their concerns regarding the ongoing police investigation.
During the assembly, community representatives emphasized their support for the arrest of the individuals named in the police complaint. However, they issued a stern warning against the harassment of innocent villagers. Leaders such as Prahlad Khatana raised serious allegations regarding police conduct, claiming that residents have been subjected to inhumane treatment during nocturnal raids. Concerns were also raised about the disruption of essential services, including electricity, and the restrictions placed on the movement of relatives and visitors into the village during the critical rabi sowing season.
The community has formally demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the murder to ensure complete transparency. Furthermore, they have called for the public release of CCTV footage from the crime scene to verify the sequence of events. Speakers at the meeting highlighted the late Atar Singh Bhadana’s contributions to the community and the reservation movement, asserting that the current administrative approach is infringing upon the fundamental rights of the villagers.
Hakim Bainsla, a key leader of the reservation committee, criticized the local administration for its handling of the situation. He warned that if the alleged harassment of innocent people continues, the community will organize a massive mahapanchayat to determine the next course of action. The leaders maintained that while they seek justice for the deceased, they will not tolerate the victimization of the broader village population.
In response to these allegations, Additional Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Yadav dismissed the claims of police misconduct as baseless and factually incorrect. He stated that the investigation is being conducted in accordance with legal procedures under the supervision of senior officers. The police confirmed the arrest of a primary suspect, Mukesh Fauji, who is currently undergoing interrogation. Authorities emphasized that teams are actively pursuing the remaining suspects and urged the public not to be misled by misinformation circulating on social media platforms.
