SAWAI MADHOPUR. Residents of the old city area in Sawai Madhopur witnessed a tense situation on Friday when a massive piece of construction equipment involved in the ongoing elevated road project suddenly lost balance and tipped over. The incident occurred near the bridge close to Regar Mohalla, causing immediate alarm among those present in the vicinity.
Witnesses reported that the heavy machinery was being transported toward the construction site when it unexpectedly veered off course and landed on its side near the roadside. The impact produced a loud noise that drew a crowd of onlookers, creating a brief period of chaos in the busy neighborhood. Despite the alarming nature of the crash, authorities confirmed that no individuals were harmed during the event.
The location of the accident is known for its high volume of daily traffic, which heightened concerns among local residents regarding public safety. Many expressed relief that the machine did not strike any pedestrians or passing vehicles during its descent, as the outcome could have been catastrophic given the density of the area.
Personnel from the Kotwali police station arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the incident to secure the perimeter and manage the flow of traffic. Officers conducted an initial assessment of the site to ensure that the area remained safe for commuters while coordinating efforts to clear the obstruction.
Work is currently underway to remove the toppled equipment using a crane. Officials are investigating the technical circumstances that led to the loss of control to prevent similar occurrences as the infrastructure project continues. The situation remains under observation as the construction crew works to restore normal operations at the site.
