Jhunjhunu. Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma visited the Jhunjhunu Reserve Police Line on Thursday to preside over a high-level crime review meeting. The session, which included key officials such as IG Rahul Prakash, DIG Kunwar Rashtradeep, and District Superintendent of Police Kavendra Singh Sagar, focused on maintaining law and order ahead of the upcoming urban body elections.

During the proceedings, the Director General issued strict directives regarding the conduct of police personnel. He emphasized that officers must maintain a polite and professional demeanor when interacting with complainants. Furthermore, he mandated that police station reception areas be kept clean and equipped with essential amenities like electricity and water to ensure a welcoming environment for the public.

A significant portion of the discussion centered on crime prevention strategies. The Director General instructed the force to maintain rigorous surveillance on hardcore history-sheeters and active criminals. He stressed the importance of proactive measures to ensure that the upcoming electoral process remains peaceful and free from any untoward incidents. Strengthening the Community Liaison Group (CLG) and engaging with youth members were highlighted as essential components for effective community policing.

Intelligence gathering was identified as a critical priority. The Director General directed local units to keep their information networks updated regarding criminal activities in every village and neighborhood. He also called for improvements in traffic management to reduce road accidents and urged the department to launch awareness campaigns to protect citizens from the rising threat of cybercrime.

Following the review, the Director General visited the Sadar Police Station to inspect its facilities, including the lock-up, record rooms, and office infrastructure. He reviewed the status of pending cases and reiterated the need for prompt resolution of public grievances. The visit concluded with a tree-planting ceremony at the Reserve Police Line, symbolizing a commitment to community engagement and environmental responsibility.
