Environmentalist Viral Desai Merges Spirituality and Sustainability at Sacred Alakhdham

In a unique convergence of faith and ecological responsibility, environmental advocate Viral Desai, widely recognized as the Greenman, spearheaded a significant green initiative at the Shri Shivshakti Ramdev Alakhdham near Palsana. The event coincided with the holy celebration of Ashadhi Beej, a day that draws massive crowds to this site, which is affectionately referred to as the Mini Ranuja of South Gujarat. As more than 250,000 pilgrims gathered to seek blessings from Baba Ramdev Pir, the atmosphere was transformed into a platform for environmental awareness.

During the festivities, Desai facilitated the distribution of thousands of saplings to the visiting devotees, encouraging them to take personal responsibility for the planet. This effort was complemented by a ceremonial plantation drive conducted within the temple's cattle shelter, carried out under the guidance of the temple's spiritual leader, Yogeshwar Bapu.
