JAIPUR. In a significant effort to bolster the local green cover, the Lions Club Jaipur Adarsh Nagar organized a large-scale plantation drive at Padmavati Park in the Nirman Nagar area. The initiative saw the successful planting of 250 saplings, encompassing both fruit-bearing and shade-providing varieties, aimed at enhancing the ecological health of the neighborhood. The event drew participation from over 70 club members, reflecting a collective commitment to environmental stewardship and community welfare.
The program was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Past District Governor Lion Anjana Jain, Region Chairperson Lion Upma Saraswat, and Zone Chairperson Lion Rani Patni. Their attendance underscored the importance of the mission, as they encouraged the volunteers to continue their efforts toward a greener Jaipur. Club President Lion Surendra Gupta, Secretary Prakash Jain, and Treasurer Manish Sharma led the proceedings, ensuring the smooth execution of the plantation activities throughout the day.
During the event, President Surendra Gupta highlighted that these plantation efforts represent more than just aesthetic improvements. He emphasized that planting trees is a solemn pledge to secure a healthy, vibrant, and safe future for the generations to come. This sentiment resonated throughout the park as members worked diligently to ensure each sapling was properly placed and secured for long-term growth.
The event also featured creative expressions of environmental awareness. Lion Ajay Saxena noted that a street play titled Save Trees, Save Life, performed by the women members of the club, served as a major highlight for the attendees. Additionally, Lion Alpana Shrivastava contributed to the atmosphere by performing a song dedicated to environmental preservation, which was well-received by the crowd.
Looking ahead, the club has set ambitious goals for the coming year. Lion Vandana Sharma announced a personal commitment to oversee the planting of 1,000 saplings over the next twelve months. The initiative received widespread praise from attendees, including Lion Yogendra Gupta and Lion Mahendra Bairathi, who commended the club for its consistent dedication to diverse social service projects that benefit the city and its residents.
