Police officials conducting an investigation in Bharatpur
BHARATPUR. The Bharatpur police have achieved a significant breakthrough in the high-profile murder investigation of former BJP legislator Atar Singh Bhadana. Under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar Meena, law enforcement teams successfully apprehended three additional suspects linked to the violent incident that occurred in Bhonda village within the Weir police station jurisdiction. This latest development brings the total number of individuals taken into custody to nine as the investigation continues to unfold.
The individuals taken into custody today have been identified as Kapil Dev, Lakhan Singh, and Jitendra Kumar, all residents of Bhonda village. Their arrests follow a series of strategic raids conducted by specialized police units tasked with tracking down those involved in the attack. The momentum in the case has increased significantly since Friday, when authorities successfully captured the primary suspect, Mukesh, who was also a resident of the same village. Prior to these recent actions, five other suspects had already been apprehended and remanded to judicial custody.
The tragic incident stems from a long-standing dispute involving the operation of a local crusher plant, mining lease rights, and access paths in the Bhonda village area. The former legislator was subjected to a lethal assault during this ongoing conflict, succumbing to his severe injuries while being transported for medical treatment. The gravity of the crime prompted senior officials, including the Inspector General and the Superintendent of Police, to form dedicated investigative teams to ensure a thorough resolution.
To maintain public order and prevent further escalation, additional police forces have been deployed throughout the village and the surrounding mining lease areas. Superintendent Rajesh Kumar Meena has issued a stern warning, emphasizing that those who undermine the rule of law will face severe consequences. Police teams are currently pursuing the remaining suspects who are still at large, with authorities expressing confidence that all individuals involved in the crime will be apprehended and presented before the court in the near future.
