Dholpur. In a significant crackdown on interstate narcotics trafficking, law enforcement officials in Dholpur have successfully intercepted a major consignment of illegal substances. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team from the Mania police station and local traffic units set up a strategic blockade on National Highway-44, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of contraband.
The operation unfolded near the Bagchauli Khar turn, where officers signaled a vehicle bearing Andhra Pradesh registration plates to stop. Upon conducting a thorough search of the car, the police discovered eleven plastic sacks concealed within the vehicle. Subsequent inspection confirmed that these bags contained a total of 261.11 kilograms of cannabis, an illicit haul estimated by authorities to have a street value of approximately 1.30 crore rupees.
Two individuals, identified as residents of the Rajahmundry district in Andhra Pradesh, were taken into custody at the scene. The suspects, identified as Srinivas T and Gedam Amar Chaitanya, were reportedly transporting the narcotics from their home state with the intended destination being Dausa in Rajasthan. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime has been impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
Dholpur Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan confirmed that the arrests were made following a tip-off provided by a vigilant police constable. The department is now focusing its efforts on dismantling the broader supply chain associated with this seizure. Investigators are currently interrogating the detainees to determine the exact source of the shipment and to identify the intended recipients in Dausa, as well as other potential members of the trafficking network.
This operation is being hailed as a critical step in curbing the flow of illegal drugs across state borders. Authorities remain committed to pursuing leads generated from this arrest to ensure that those involved in the distribution of narcotics are held accountable under the law. Further updates are expected as the interrogation process continues and the investigation deepens.
