Fatal Collision at Bhusawar Crusher Zone Sparks Outrage Over Safety Lapses
A migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh was killed after being struck by a trailer at a crusher unit in Bhusawar, marking the second fatal incident in a week.
Bhusawar. A tragic incident occurred late Friday night in the Ghatri crusher zone of Bhusawar, where a laborer lost his life after being struck by an uncontrolled trailer. The victim, identified as a resident of Ashraf Nagar in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, was working at the Kaila Devi crusher unit when the heavy vehicle hit him, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. Following the collision, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the area, leaving behind a scene of shock and growing public anger.
Local law enforcement, led by Head Constable Thansingh of the Bhusawar police station, arrived promptly to secure the area and initiate an investigation. The body has been moved to the mortuary at the Bhusawar Government Hospital, where it will remain until family members arrive to complete the necessary post-mortem procedures. Authorities have successfully seized the trailer involved in the accident and have launched a formal search operation to locate and apprehend the absconding driver.
This fatality has reignited intense criticism regarding the lack of safety protocols within the industrial zone. Residents and local observers point out that this is the second major tragedy in the region within a single week, following a previous incident on Karwan Road where a mother and her son were killed by a speeding dumper. Despite the recurring nature of these deadly accidents, there is widespread frustration over the perceived inaction of local authorities in enforcing speed limits and safety regulations.
Concerns have been raised regarding the absence of adequate lighting, speed breakers, and trained personnel at the crusher sites. Allegations have surfaced suggesting that operators often attempt to settle such matters with minimal compensation to avoid scrutiny. As police continue to examine the technical circumstances of the crash, including whether the driver was speeding or failed to notice the worker during a reverse maneuver, the community is demanding stricter oversight to prevent further loss of life in what many now describe as a dangerous industrial corridor.
