Deeg. In a proactive move to address the rising concerns of digital fraud, the Deeg district police have initiated a grassroots campaign titled Cyber Chaupal. Spearheaded by Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath K., the program focuses on direct engagement with residents in areas identified as vulnerable to cybercriminal activities. By stepping out of the office and into the heart of these communities, the police aim to reshape the district's reputation and provide local youth with a path toward legitimate livelihoods.

The most recent session took place on October 7, 2026, in Haibatka village, under the jurisdiction of the Gopalgarh police station. The event drew a significant turnout, including local youth, village elders, and concerned citizens. During the assembly, the Superintendent emphasized the long-term consequences of participating in fraudulent schemes, warning that the allure of quick money often leads to severe legal repercussions, including imprisonment and the permanent tarnishing of family reputations.

A critical aspect of the discussion involved educating villagers on the dangers of facilitating criminal networks. The police clarified that providing fake SIM cards or allowing personal bank accounts to be used as mule accounts constitutes a serious criminal offense. Authorities stressed that those involved in such activities would face strict legal action, regardless of their level of participation in the actual fraud.

Beyond warnings, the campaign serves as an appeal for youth to channel their energy into education and gainful employment. The administration has pledged to support those willing to return to the mainstream, fostering a safer environment for the community. Residents were also provided with essential safety tips, such as avoiding suspicious links and never sharing one-time passwords with strangers.

The Deeg police are currently operating under a three-tiered strategy that balances prevention, public awareness, and rigorous enforcement. This model has already been implemented in several other locations, including Bhandara, Bhilamka, Hingota, Khalluka, Alghani, and Gadhaner. By maintaining a consistent presence in these regions, the department hopes to dismantle the infrastructure of cybercrime from within and encourage a culture of lawfulness among the younger generation.
