Legal Literacy Drive Targets Substance Abuse in Churu Schools

CHURU. A concerted effort to combat substance abuse among the youth was launched across Churu on Tuesday as part of the Transformative Tuesday campaign. Under the guidance of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority and District and Sessions Judge Sonika Purohit, judicial officers visited seven educational institutions to engage directly with students regarding the severe consequences of drug dependency.

The initiative focused on the theme of rejecting narcotics to embrace personal aspirations, emphasizing that substance use is not a lifestyle choice but a path toward destruction. Officials urged the student body to prioritize their mental and physical well-being, framing the avoidance of drugs as a vital step in safeguarding their future prospects and academic success.

Several prominent judicial figures led the outreach efforts across the district. Judge Pawan Kumar Verma addressed students at Modern Baby Happy Senior Secondary School, while Balwant Singh Bhari, judge of the POCSO Court, visited Indian Public School. Additional District Judge Rajendra Chaudhary conducted a session at Gitanjali Public Senior Secondary School, and Special Judge Kamal Soni spoke at St. Victoria Memorial School.

Further engagement was facilitated by District Legal Services Authority Secretary Krishna Rakesh Kanwat at Zakir Hussain Senior Secondary School, and Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajay Kumar Punia, who interacted with students at Shri Jain Shwetamber Terapanthi Bal Vihar Senior Secondary School. Additionally, Judicial Magistrate Pinky Meena led a program at Royal SRK Public School in Gajsar.

Throughout these sessions, the message remained consistent: addiction poses a significant threat to individual development and social stability. By fostering a deeper understanding of the legal and health-related repercussions of drug use, the authorities aim to empower the younger generation to make informed, healthy choices that contribute to a more secure and productive community environment.
