Rajasthan Mewar Jat Mahasabha Announces Fourth Mass Wedding Event in Bhilwara

Kotdi, Bhilwara. The Rajasthan Mewar Jat Mahasabha held a pivotal meeting at the Jat Dharamshala in Kotdi, Bhilwara, to finalize preparations for the upcoming fourth mass wedding ceremony scheduled for November 20, 2026. Presided over by District President Devbaksh Dhabardhima and attended by State President Shankar Lal Kudi, the assembly focused on addressing the rising trend of ostentatious weddings within the community.

During the proceedings, it was decided that the venue for the mass wedding would be determined by the region with the highest number of registered couples. Representatives from the Kotdi block expressed strong interest in hosting the event, pledging a significant number of registrations. To strengthen the organizational structure, Kailash Godara Kakaroliya Ghati was appointed as the Kotdi Block President, alongside new vice-presidents and a secretary.

Community leaders emphasized the need to move away from unnecessary financial burdens. Shahpura Block President Ramdhan Tharoda and Jahazpur Block President Shivraj Virbadia announced registrations from their respective areas, while other officials committed to supporting the initiative. Hemraj Garhwal of the Banera block advocated for replacing traditional clothing gifts with cash envelopes to simplify wedding customs.

A major highlight of the meeting was the adoption of a resolution to limit wedding jewelry expenses to a maximum of 5 lakh rupees. General Secretary Shobharam Togda urged members to embrace simplicity, noting that true progress lies in modest living rather than competitive displays of wealth. The organization also stressed the importance of education and maintaining a drug-free society.

The Mahasabha has extended an open invitation to any social workers or families across India who wish to conduct weddings without excessive expenditure to join the November event. Participants are encouraged to contribute their time and resources to ensure the success of this initiative, which aims to set a new standard for community celebrations in the region.
