Churu Farmers Embark on Seven-Day Agricultural Study Tour to Gujarat

CHURU. A delegation of fifty farmers from Churu district set off on a seven-day interstate educational tour to Gujarat on July 19. The group will visit various agricultural research centers, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and universities to gain firsthand experience in modern farming techniques. Churu MLA Harlal Saharan officially flagged off the bus, extending his best wishes to the participants for a productive and insightful journey.

The tour is organized under the auspices of the ATMA project, which aims to enhance the agricultural capabilities of local farmers. Dr. Rajkumar Kulhari, the tour in-charge and Deputy Director of Agriculture, emphasized that the curriculum focuses on critical areas such as soil health conservation, the balanced application of fertilizers, and scientific cultivation methods. He encouraged the farmers to absorb these technical insights thoroughly so they can implement sustainable practices on their own lands upon returning home.

Addressing the participants, Joint Director of Agriculture Deepak Kapila highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing. He urged the farmers to act as ambassadors for these new techniques, ensuring that the benefits of the tour reach the wider farming community in Churu. By fostering a culture of learning and innovation, the department hopes to contribute to the long-term prosperity of the district's agricultural sector.

The ATMA project remains a cornerstone of the district's agricultural development strategy, facilitating training and exposure visits for over 500 farmers annually. This initiative allows participants to witness successful agricultural models both within and outside the state. The departure ceremony was attended by several officials, including Assistant In-charge Karmveer Godara, Assistant Agriculture Officer of Dudhwakhara, and facilitators Abhay Kumar Jain, Ramswaroop Motsara, and Madanlal.
