Governor Haribhau Bagade Calls for Holistic Education at Shekhawati Gyan Sabha
Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade and Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani addressed the Shekhawati Gyan Sabha in Sikar, emphasizing the integration of Indian cultural values with modern education.

Sikar. Rajasthan Governor and Chancellor Haribhau Bagade presided over the Shekhawati Gyan Sabha held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University in Sikar this Saturday. The event, organized in collaboration with the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, Jaipur, served as a platform for deep deliberation on the future of education, cultural values, and the vision of a developed nation.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Bagade asserted that the true purpose of education extends far beyond mere literacy. He emphasized that academic institutions must focus on the comprehensive development of a student's intellect, character, and overall personality. According to the Governor, education and culture are complementary forces, and integrating traditional Indian knowledge systems into the modern curriculum is an urgent necessity for the current generation.
The Governor also took a moment to commend the impressive performance of Rajasthan students in the NEET-2026 examinations. However, he urged educational institutions to look beyond examination results and prioritize the cultivation of critical thinking and leadership qualities among their students.
Chief Guest and Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani echoed these sentiments, stating that universities should function as centers for knowledge, ethics, and nation-building rather than mere degree-granting bodies. He advocated for the inclusion of Indian history and moral values as an integral component of the academic framework.
Keynote speaker Babulal, the Jaipur Prant Pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, noted that the goal of a developed India relies heavily on aligning education with societal responsibilities and core life values. He argued that academic success is incomplete without a strong foundation in cultural heritage.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anil Kumar Rai highlighted the institution's ongoing commitment to quality education, research, and innovation. He noted that the university is actively working to bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and contemporary academic requirements. The event featured three technical sessions where experts discussed the educational development and entrepreneurial potential of the Shekhawati region, drawing participation from college principals, faculty members, and researchers.
