New BCMO Office Building Inaugurated in Gida to Boost Healthcare Services
Cabinet Minister Joraram Kumawat inaugurated the new Block Chief Medical and Health Officer office in Gida, Balotra, aiming to streamline regional health administration and services.

Balotra. The healthcare infrastructure in the Baytu assembly constituency received a significant boost on Saturday with the formal inauguration of a new Block Chief Medical and Health Officer (BCMO) office building in Gida. The facility was unveiled by Rajasthan Cabinet Minister for Animal Husbandry, Gopalan, Dairy, and Devasthan, Joraram Kumawat, who performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony and unveiled the commemorative plaque.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Kumawat highlighted that the BCMO office for Gida was sanctioned in 2023. Previously, administrative operations were being managed from a temporary setup within the local Community Health Centre. The new facility, constructed at an estimated cost of 1.10 crore rupees, is expected to provide a dedicated workspace for medical officers and administrative staff. This development is set to enhance the monitoring of two Community Health Centres, eight Primary Health Centres, and 43 sub-centres operating under this block, ensuring that government health schemes reach the public more efficiently.
In addition to the main office, Minister Kumawat also inaugurated two newly constructed health sub-centres located at Simaniyon ki Dhani and Jagram ki Dhani. According to BCMO Dr. Mahendra Kumar, each of these sub-centres was built at a cost of 55 lakh rupees. For the past three years, these health units had been functioning out of local Anganwadi centres, and the new buildings represent a major upgrade in local medical accessibility.
Reiterating the government's commitment to public health, Minister Kumawat stated that the primary objective is to deliver modern and accessible medical facilities to the most remote areas. He emphasized that the new office would strengthen the medical framework of the entire Baytu and Gida region, reducing the need for residents to travel to the district headquarters for administrative or health-related matters. The event was attended by former Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Choudhary, local BJP leaders, and various public representatives who were welcomed by the local medical administration.
