Churu Juvenile Justice Board undergoes official inspection to review pending cases

CHURU. The Juvenile Justice Board in Churu was subject to a formal inspection on Saturday, aimed at evaluating the status of pending legal matters and the quality of amenities provided to children under the board's care. This oversight visit was conducted under the directives of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority in Jaipur and the guidance of District Legal Services Authority Chairperson and District and Sessions Judge Sonika Purohit.

Secretary Krishna Rakesh Kanwat, representing the District Legal Services Authority, led the review process. During the visit, she examined the current status of cases awaiting resolution and assessed the operational efficiency of the board's staff. The inspection covered the physical condition of the facility, the adequacy of waiting areas designated for witnesses, and the general infrastructure of the building. Following the assessment, specific instructions were issued to the relevant officials to strengthen administrative processes and improve existing arrangements.

A significant portion of the inspection focused on the welfare of children residing within the juvenile home. Secretary Kanwat conducted a detailed review of the basic necessities provided to the residents. This included a thorough check of the nutritional quality of meals, the availability and standard of medical services, the accessibility of clean drinking water, and the overall sanitation standards maintained within the premises.

Furthermore, the secretary inquired about the legal representation provided by advocates under the legal aid program. She reviewed how these cases are being handled and advocated for in court. During the visit, she also engaged with those present at the facility to raise awareness about the free legal aid schemes offered by the government, ensuring that individuals understand their rights and the support available to them through the legal services framework.
