Jaipur. In a major crackdown on cybercrime, the Jaipur West police have successfully dismantled an organized online betting network operating under the guise of gaming platforms. Acting under the directives of the Police Commissionerate, the operation led to the arrest of seven individuals who were allegedly managing betting panels through master IDs. The initiative was carried out as part of the ongoing Mule Hunter campaign, aimed at curbing digital financial fraud across the region.
The operation was executed under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police Prashant Kiran, with supervision from Additional DCP Rajesh Kumar Gupta. A specialized team, including members from the Cyber Cell led by IPS Aditi Upadhyay and the Karni Vihar police station, worked in coordination to track the suspects. During the raids, authorities recovered 19 mobile phones, a laptop, and 20 SIM cards, which are currently undergoing forensic analysis to map the extent of the network.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were facilitating illegal betting activities through various online platforms, leading to significant financial losses for participants. The police have identified over 50 bank accounts and 35 UPI IDs linked to the suspects, all of which have been blocked to prevent further illicit transactions. Furthermore, the investigation uncovered cryptocurrency holdings, resulting in the freezing of approximately 3,200 USDT, valued at roughly 3.5 lakh rupees.
The seven arrested individuals, hailing from Ajmer and Balotra districts, are currently undergoing intensive interrogation. Officials are analyzing the recovered digital evidence to identify the masterminds behind the betting panels and trace the full scope of the financial web. The police are also investigating the involvement of other potential associates who may have facilitated these transactions.
This successful intervention highlights the growing focus of Jaipur police on tackling sophisticated cyber-enabled crimes. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation remains active, with further arrests expected as the digital trail is followed. The department continues to urge citizens to remain vigilant against online platforms that promise quick financial gains through gaming, as these are often fronts for illegal betting syndicates.
