Jaipur. Health authorities in Jaipur Second organized a dedicated health initiative on Tuesday to address the prevalence of anemia among vulnerable groups. The event, observed as Shakti Divas, focused on the systematic screening and treatment of children, adolescent girls, and women across the district to improve overall health outcomes.

During the day-long drive, medical teams performed hemoglobin tests to identify individuals suffering from anemia. Those diagnosed with the condition received immediate medical attention, including the distribution of iron supplements to help boost their hemoglobin levels. This initiative is part of a broader state-wide strategy to systematically reduce anemia rates across various demographics.

Chief Medical and Health Officer for Jaipur Second, Dr. Manish Mittal, highlighted that the program specifically targets children, adolescent girls, married women, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. By focusing on these groups, the health department aims to implement targeted interventions that address the specific nutritional needs of each category, thereby fostering a healthier population.

Beyond clinical screening, the event served as a platform for public health education. Participants were provided with guidance on maintaining a nutritious diet, particularly in the context of the ongoing Nutrition Month. Health workers emphasized the importance of consuming iron-rich foods and maintaining healthy eating habits to prevent the recurrence of nutritional deficiencies.

The Shakti Divas initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Department of Medical and Health Services alongside other government departments. By scheduling these activities on every Tuesday of the month, the administration ensures a consistent and sustained approach toward achieving a state free from anemia. The program also included awareness sessions regarding the prevention of seasonal diseases, equipping families with the knowledge to protect themselves throughout the year.
