JAIPUR. As the festive season approaches, the health department in Jaipur has intensified its efforts to ensure that residents receive safe and unadulterated food products. Acting under the directives of the state food safety administration, a specialized team conducted surprise inspections across the Tunga and Kotkhawada regions to monitor the quality of sweets being sold to the public.

During the operation, officials visited several prominent establishments to verify hygiene standards and product quality. At Tunga, the team collected samples of Mishri Mawa from Jodha Misthan Bhandar and Jodhpur Misthan Bhandar, along with Kalakand samples from Khandelwal Sweets Corner. Simultaneously, in the Kotkhawada area, a sample of Mawa Barfi was seized from Maa Bhawani Jodhpur Misthan Bhandar for laboratory analysis.

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Manish Mittal emphasized that the primary objective of this campaign is to protect consumer health during the high-demand Diwali period. He stated that the department is committed to maintaining strict oversight of food manufacturing and sales practices. Shop owners were explicitly instructed to adhere to established safety protocols, utilize high-quality raw materials, and maintain rigorous cleanliness within their premises.

The collected samples have been dispatched to the state laboratory for detailed testing. Dr. Mittal confirmed that the department will initiate further legal action against any establishment found violating food safety norms based on the forthcoming test results. The inspection drive is expected to continue across the district in the coming days to deter potential malpractice.

Authorities have also issued an advisory to the public, urging residents to purchase festive sweets only from trusted and reputable vendors. Consumers are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicions regarding food adulteration directly to the food safety department. By fostering cooperation between the administration and the public, officials aim to ensure a safe and healthy celebration for all citizens in the region.
