Jaipur. A display of exceptional courage and quick thinking by the Jaipur West police has saved the life of an elderly woman who fell into a dry well in the Ahiron ki Dhani area of Chomu. The incident, which occurred on the morning of November 3, prompted an immediate response from the Daulatpura police station after they received an emergency alert at approximately 9:18 AM.
Upon arriving at the scene, the police team led by Station House Officer Mahendra Singh Yadav found a crowd of over a hundred onlookers gathered around the well. Despite the presence of family members, the depth and hazardous nature of the dry well had prevented anyone from attempting a rescue before the authorities arrived. The situation demanded urgent intervention as the woman remained trapped in the dark, precarious depths.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Woman Constable Rajkiran took charge of the coordination efforts, working alongside local villagers to organize a safe descent. Constable Tejpal, demonstrating immense bravery, volunteered to be lowered into the well. Ignoring the personal risks involved in entering the unstable structure, he successfully reached the woman and secured her for extraction.
Following the successful retrieval, the police team ensured the woman was immediately transported to KR Hospital in Chomu for urgent medical evaluation. The operation was overseen by Deputy Commissioner of Police for Jaipur West, Prashant Kiran, who commended the team for their dedication and rapid response. The rescue involved a coordinated effort by the Daulatpura police team, including Head Constable Puranmal and Constable Krishna, who assisted in the logistics of the operation.
This incident highlights the critical role of local law enforcement in emergency situations, showcasing both their physical bravery and their commitment to public safety. The swift actions of Constables Tejpal and Rajkiran ensured that a potentially tragic accident resulted in a successful rescue, earning praise from the local community for their humanitarian service and professional conduct during the crisis.
