Begun/Dorai. A disturbing incident of animal cruelty has shaken the community of Baghpura village, located within the jurisdiction of the Begun police station in Chittorgarh district. On the evening of October 19, a local individual allegedly launched a violent assault on cattle using an axe, leaving more than 15 animals severely injured. The attack targeted livestock belonging to several different owners, causing widespread outrage among the local residents who quickly mobilized to protect the animals.
Responding to the emergency, local law enforcement acted with remarkable speed. Within 30 minutes of receiving the report, police officers apprehended the suspect, identified as Prakash Bhil. A formal case has been registered against the accused, and authorities have initiated a thorough investigation into the motives behind this unprovoked act of violence. The swift arrest provided some relief to the villagers, who remain deeply concerned about the safety of their livestock.
Following the attack, veterinary teams and medical staff were dispatched to the scene to provide urgent care to the wounded animals. The medical personnel worked diligently to treat the deep wounds inflicted by the axe, which had left several animals unable to walk. Villagers expressed their gratitude for the prompt medical intervention, which was crucial in stabilizing the condition of the injured cattle.
The incident has highlighted the vulnerability of livestock that graze in the nearby forest areas. According to the complaint filed by Kanhaiyalal Bhil, the affected animals include livestock belonging to multiple families in the village. There is also concern regarding the safety of the 125 cattle housed at the nearby Shri Maruti Nandan Gaushala, as a large portion of that herd regularly grazes in the same vicinity where the attack occurred.
Prominent bhajan singer Gokul Sharma publicly commended the villagers and the rescue teams for their immediate response and dedication to protecting the animals. His message of support served to encourage those who stepped forward to ensure the wounded cattle received necessary care. As the investigation continues, the local community remains firm in its demand for stringent legal action against the perpetrator to prevent any recurrence of such violence in the future.
