Sawai Madhopur Gears Up for Four-Day Dussehra Extravaganza Featuring Ajay Hooda

Sawai Madhopur. The city of Sawai Madhopur is set to celebrate the triumph of good over evil as the four-day district-level Dussehra festival commences today at the Housing Board Road ground. Organized under the joint efforts of the district administration and the Municipal Council, the event promises a blend of traditional religious fervor and vibrant cultural performances.

The highlight of the festivities will be the burning of massive effigies, including a 40-foot tall Ravana alongside 30-foot tall structures of Kumbhakarna and Meghnada. According to local officials, the final preparations for these effigies are complete, and the event will be preceded by a spectacular fireworks display designed to captivate the audience.

Adding a modern musical touch to the traditional celebrations, popular Haryanvi artist Ajay Hooda will take the stage on the opening evening. His live performance is highly anticipated, particularly among the youth. The cultural evening will also feature traditional Rajasthani folk dances performed by Gauri Kajal and her troupe, creating a unique confluence of heritage and contemporary entertainment.

To ensure a seamless experience for the large crowds expected to attend, the municipal and police authorities have implemented comprehensive logistical arrangements. These include designated parking zones, barricading for crowd control, enhanced lighting, and accessible drinking water facilities. The day's schedule begins at 5:00 PM with a grand procession of Lord Rama, which will traverse the city's main thoroughfares. Following the procession, the effigy burning ceremony is slated for 6:30 PM in the presence of local dignitaries. The cultural program is scheduled to commence at 8:00 PM at the stadium ground.
