Pali Police Operation Jagriti Saves Mentally Unwell Woman Found Wandering on Highway
A distressed woman found wandering on the Jaipur highway was rescued by the Pali Anti-Romeo squad and provided shelter under the Operation Jagriti initiative.

Pali. The Pali police force has demonstrated a compassionate side to their law enforcement duties through the ongoing Operation Jagriti, an initiative focused on the safety and empowerment of women and children. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Monica Sen and the supervision of Additional Superintendent Sunil K. Pawar, the department successfully intervened to assist a vulnerable individual found in a precarious situation.
The operation was triggered by a report received on the dedicated Anti-Romeo squad helpline. A local social worker named Rizwan alerted the team, led by Head Constable Parvati Charan, regarding a woman wandering near the Panihari intersection on the busy Jaipur highway. Given the heavy traffic and the onset of darkness, the situation posed a significant risk to her life. The police team acted swiftly, instructing the informant to keep the woman in a safe spot while they rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, the officers found the woman in a state of mental distress, appearing frightened and unable to communicate her identity or residence. Recognizing the urgency of her condition, the team transported her to the Chief Minister Rehabilitation Home. This facility, managed by the Divyang Seva Sansthan, immediately began providing the necessary care and support services required for her stabilization.
Subsequent efforts by the staff at the rehabilitation center led to the identification of the woman as Indira Meghwal, a resident of Jadan. While the police successfully contacted her family members, they were unable to arrive immediately, and the woman remains under the care of the rehabilitation facility for the time being. A medical examination was conducted upon her admission, which confirmed that she had not sustained any physical injuries or accidents during her time on the road.
The successful rescue operation involved a collaborative effort between law enforcement and community members. The team, including Head Constable Parvati Charan, Vimal Kanwar, Poonam, Bhavna, and driver Shyam Singh, worked alongside social worker Rizwan to ensure the woman was moved from a dangerous environment to a secure shelter. The management of the rehabilitation home has expressed their gratitude to the police for their proactive and sensitive approach to public safety.
