North Western Railway Employees Stage Zonal Protest Over Administrative Control Dispute

Jaipur. Railway employees under the banner of the North Western Railway Mazdoor Sangh organized a significant protest at the Coach Care Complex in Jaipur on September 15, 2026. The demonstration, which commenced at 10:00 AM, saw staff from both the electrical coaching and mechanical departments voicing their strong opposition to recent administrative changes. The core of the dispute lies in the decision to transfer administrative control of electrical coaching staff to the mechanical department, a move mandated by a gazetted memorandum issued in July 2024.

Divisional President Saurabh Dixit stated that the workforce is prepared to escalate their agitation if the administration continues to ignore their grievances. The union has been actively pursuing this issue through official channels, including raising the matter during the Permanent Negotiating Machinery meetings held in March 2025. Despite these formal discussions, the union claims that the headquarters has failed to issue corrective orders, leaving the staff under a management structure they deem inappropriate for their specialized roles.

Divisional Secretary Deepak Verma emphasized that the union would not tolerate discriminatory treatment of its members. He noted that the administration had been warned in writing about the potential for zonal-level protests if the concerns regarding departmental control were not addressed. The union maintains that the current arrangement creates unnecessary operational hurdles and negatively impacts the morale of the electrical staff who are now reporting to a different technical wing.

The protest saw participation from a wide range of union officials and staff members, including Praveen Chauhan, Virendra Singh Kaviya, Manju Singh Meena, and several others who gathered to demand immediate policy intervention. As the standoff continues, the union leadership has reiterated its commitment to protecting the interests of the employees. The administration has yet to provide a formal response to the latest demonstration, leaving the future of the administrative structure in a state of uncertainty for the affected railway personnel.
