Rajasthan is grappling with a significant escalation in digital financial crimes, as recent data reveals that residents have lost a staggering 387 crore to cyber fraudsters within the last six and a half months. This alarming trend has prompted state authorities to implement more robust measures to ensure victims receive immediate assistance and that investigations are not delayed by jurisdictional technicalities.

To combat this growing menace, the state government has introduced a new policy mandating the registration of a Zero FIR for any cyber fraud case involving a transaction amount of 1 lakh or more. This directive is designed to allow victims to report crimes at any police station, regardless of where the incident occurred or where the financial loss originated. By removing the initial hurdle of jurisdictional disputes, officials aim to streamline the reporting process and enable law enforcement to act more swiftly against perpetrators.
