Jaipur. In a significant breakthrough for the Jaipur police, the Manak Chowk station officials have successfully apprehended two individuals who had been evading law enforcement for nearly a decade. The suspects, identified as Prakash and Nisha, are a married couple implicated in the high-profile Raj Laxmi Bank financial scandal that surfaced several years ago.
The couple had been declared absconding for the past eight years, during which time they frequently relocated to avoid detection. Each of the suspects carried a bounty of 10,000 rupees on their heads, reflecting the seriousness of the charges against them. Their capture follows a period of intense surveillance and intelligence gathering by local authorities.
The operation was initiated following a specific tip-off received by Constable Kailashchand, which allowed the police team to pinpoint the couple's current whereabouts. The arrest was executed under the direct supervision of DCP North Karan Sharma, with strategic guidance provided by ADCP Alok Singhal and ACP Piyush Kavia. The field team was led by Manak Chowk Station House Officer Rakesh Khyalia.
The successful apprehension involved a coordinated effort by several officers, including ASI Sahab Singh, Ashok, Shyamlal, Manju, Manjeet, and Vijay. Their collective work ensured that the fugitives were taken into custody without further incident, marking a closure to a long-standing search operation.
Currently, the police are conducting rigorous interrogations of the pair to uncover further details regarding the financial irregularities at Raj Laxmi Bank. Investigators are also focused on mapping the couple's movements and identifying the various locations where they sought refuge during their eight-year flight from justice. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses and the suspects provide information about potential accomplices involved in the broader scam.
