Deeg Police Dismantle Massive Illicit Liquor Network in Strategic Raid

Deeg/Kumher. In a significant blow to the illicit liquor trade, local law enforcement has launched a coordinated crackdown across the district. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Sharan Gopinath K., teams from the Kumher and Khoh police stations executed a series of raids that effectively dismantled local distribution networks. The operation resulted in the destruction of thousands of liters of raw materials and the seizure of contraband, marking a stern warning to those involved in the illegal trade.

The primary action took place near Pili Pokhar in the Chhapar Mohalla area of Kumher. Acting on credible intelligence, a police team led by Circle Officer Sitaram and Station House Officer Jitendra Singh raided a clandestine site where large-scale production was underway. During the operation, officers unearthed and destroyed approximately 3,000 liters of wash buried underground. Furthermore, five illegal distillation units were dismantled on-site, halting the production process entirely.

In a related enforcement effort, Kumher police apprehended a suspect identified as Sukhdev, a 30-year-old resident of Chhapar Mohalla. Authorities seized 70 liters of illicit liquor and a motorcycle used for distribution. While the primary suspect was taken into custody, a second individual, Rishi, managed to evade capture and remains the subject of an ongoing search. A formal case has been registered under the Excise Act to facilitate further legal proceedings.

Simultaneously, the Khoh police station conducted a separate operation near Pasta Road. A team led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Nahar Singh intercepted a suspect identified as 32-year-old Sanjay, a resident of Pasta. Upon inspection, officers discovered 52 pouches of illicit 'Ghunghru' country liquor being transported without a valid license. The suspect was promptly arrested, and the contraband was confiscated as evidence.

The success of these operations is attributed to the diligent efforts of the combined police teams, including officers from both Kumher and Khoh stations. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to maintaining public order and curbing the influence of organized illegal liquor syndicates in the region. Investigations into the supply chains and potential accomplices are currently underway, as police continue to monitor high-risk areas to prevent the resurgence of such illegal activities.
