DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma Directs Jalore Police to Prioritize Drug Crackdown and Public Sensitivity

JALORE. Rajasthan Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma arrived at the Jalore district headquarters on Tuesday for a comprehensive review of the local law and order situation. Upon his arrival, the state police chief was accorded a guard of honor before proceeding to the police lines conference hall to chair a high-level meeting with senior officers. The session focused on evaluating the district's unique geographical challenges and the current status of criminal activities.

Addressing the gathering, the DGP identified the eradication of drug trafficking as the department's top priority. He issued explicit instructions to dismantle narcotics networks through aggressive enforcement and urged officers to take decisive action against the illegal liquor trade. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for stringent monitoring of hardcore criminals and the launch of public awareness campaigns to combat rising cybercrimes and offenses against women. He stressed that the provisions of new legal frameworks must be implemented effectively on the ground without any procedural delays.

A significant portion of the discussion centered on the conduct of police personnel toward citizens. The DGP highlighted the critical role of duty officers, mandating that they maintain a polite and sensitive demeanor when interacting with complainants. He issued a clear directive that every cognizable offense must be registered immediately upon reporting, ensuring that the police response remains prompt and efficient.

To bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community, the police chief called for enhanced coordination with Community Liaison Group members. He encouraged officers to foster open communication to resolve public grievances and increase social participation in policing efforts. Additionally, he noted that traffic management within the district requires sustained attention to ensure public convenience.

Beyond operational strategies, the DGP inspected the maintenance and cleanliness of police stations, outposts, and administrative offices. He remarked that a positive and well-maintained environment is essential not only for the well-being of police personnel but also for creating a welcoming atmosphere for the public. The meeting was attended by senior officials including ADG Hawa Singh Ghumaria, IG Jodhpur Range Satyendra Singh, and Jalore Superintendent of Police Shailendra Singh Indaulia, among other key administrative staff.
