Rajasthan Police Strikes at the Financial Core of Drug Syndicates with Massive Asset Seizures

Jaipur. In a significant move to dismantle the financial infrastructure of narcotics syndicates, the Rajasthan Police has executed a historic operation, resulting in the attachment and seizure of illegal assets valued at approximately Rs 73.64 crore. Under the direct supervision of Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, this state-wide initiative leverages Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, commonly known as the SAFEMA provisions, to strip offenders of wealth accumulated through illicit drug trade.

The operation, spearheaded by the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), has successfully secured approval for the forfeiture of assets in 38 distinct cases. IG Vikas Kumar confirmed that while these 38 cases have reached the final stage of legal approval, an additional 25 cases are currently undergoing rigorous legal scrutiny. The authorities have identified a wide array of assets, including luxury bungalows, agricultural land, commercial properties, and high-end vehicles, all linked to the proceeds of narcotics trafficking.

The crackdown has been particularly intense in districts such as Chittorgarh, Baran, Jhalawar, and Pratapgarh, where the financial impact on criminal networks has been most pronounced. In Chittorgarh alone, assets worth over Rs 20 crore were seized, while Baran and Jhalawar saw seizures totaling Rs 18.48 crore and Rs 12.65 crore, respectively. These actions target not just the kingpins but also the secondary assets that facilitate the operations of these criminal enterprises.

DGP Rajiv Kumar Sharma has issued a stern warning to those involved in the narcotics trade, emphasizing that the police are committed to eradicating the drug menace by systematically destroying the economic backbone of these syndicates. He reiterated that the state will continue to pursue such financial investigations to ensure that crime does not pay.

To sustain this momentum, the ANTF is actively profiling habitual offenders and coordinating with district Superintendents of Police to identify further assets. Furthermore, specialized units are being established within district police offices to monitor and act against drug-related financial activities. The police have also urged citizens to report suspicious activities, reinforcing the state's resolve to achieve a drug-free Rajasthan.
