Rajasthan Police Reports Significant Drop in Crime Rates Amidst New Strategic Directives

Jaipur. Rajasthan Police has reported a notable decline in criminal activity as the state leadership pushes for modernized policing and stricter accountability. During a high-level review meeting chaired by Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar Sharma, officials analyzed crime data spanning from 2024 through July 2026. The findings indicate a 17.25 percent reduction in total crime and a 32.32 percent decrease in property-related offenses compared to previous years.

The meeting, which connected police commissioners and district superintendents via video conference, focused on the implementation of new criminal laws and the integration of digital tools. DGP Sharma emphasized the directives of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, urging officers to prioritize the swift resolution of cases, particularly those involving women and children. Special attention was directed toward the POCSO Act cases, which saw a 21.56 percent decline in 2026 compared to the previous year.

Cybersecurity remains a top priority for the force. With the rise of digital threats, the department is focusing on identifying cybercrime hotspots and coordinating international efforts to dismantle criminal networks. The police have also successfully removed nearly 99 percent of social media content deemed harmful to women and children, while maintaining a high compliance rate in national e-governance rankings.

The state's anti-narcotics efforts, including the 'Laxman Rekha' campaign, continue to gain momentum through increased public awareness and financial investigations into drug-related assets. Furthermore, the police are preparing to launch a next-generation e-challan system to streamline traffic management and enforcement across the state.

Addressing internal departmental matters, the DGP called for the timely resolution of pending investigations and the monitoring of police personnel conduct. He reiterated that public safety and accountability remain the core pillars of the Rajasthan Police, encouraging officers to utilize technology and community engagement to maintain law and order effectively.
